Who decides, what happens next, and when does my voice matter?

Follow the decision—not just the final vote.

Major decisions develop through needs, studies, alternatives, recommendations, funding plans, public meetings, and formal authority. A Town Meeting article may be the final gate for some choices, but not every Town action follows the same route.

What we can show now

  1. Need identified: Who raised the issue and what evidence supports it?
  2. Options developed: Who created the alternatives and what was excluded?
  3. Professional and administrative review: What technical, legal, operational, procurement, or financial advice was received?
  4. Board and committee review: Which bodies discussed, recommended, opposed, or changed the proposal?
  5. Regional or external dependencies: Does another town, district, authority, regulator, or grant program also have a role?
  6. Financial review: What did the Finance Committee or other financial reviewers conclude, and on what assumptions?
  7. Formal authorization: Is the decision made by an administrator, board, Town Meeting, election, regional vote, contract, or some combination?
  8. Warrant and motion: If Town Meeting action is required, show the exact article, final motion, recommendation, funding source, and vote result.
  9. Implementation: Who becomes accountable for procurement, schedule, budget, and delivery?
  10. Resident participation: Show the earliest meaningful opportunities to ask questions or influence the path—not only the final night of a vote.
