The service is larger than the program count
Residents also receive access to places.
The 2025 Town report identifies work across parks, fields, open space and ten trail systems. It describes an accessible Sawmill Pond trail, trail clearing and signage, and everyday care of places including Spec Pond, Memorial Fields and Brainard Park.

A non-dollar choice still matters: Keeping land in public or open-space use preserves recreation and town character. Depending on ownership, legal protections and required approvals, the alternative could be choosing to develop or sell the property.

The count shows use—not the whole result.
More participation might mean stronger reach, greater need, changed definitions, population change or constrained alternatives. It does not, by itself, establish access, quality, efficiency or outcome.
Do not calculate Cost per participant from this brief. The activity units and a matching complete service-Cost boundary are not aligned.
